University Libraries’ Social Action Programs Conducted in 3 Communities
Ms. Mary Angelique H. Baylon, serials librarian, along with four other library staff, spearheaded the said activity. Technical services such as accessioning, labeling, cataloging, and classifying of library materials were conducted by the group.
Ms. Monalisa Gundan, library in-charge, had her orientation with regard to the services towards the continuity of processes in accessioning of the school’s library materials. The Project BBL at the said school started last school year 2018-2019.
USL observes International Book Giving Day; libraries seek donations for Book Mobile Project
Coinciding with the celebration of the 54th Foundation Day of the University of Saint Louis (USL), the International Book Giving Day was observed in USL last February 21, where book lovers or givers gave away reading materials.
Fiction books and other materials donated are appropriate for children and teenagers.
Spoken Poetry
The University libraries, has recently conducted the first-ever “Spoken Poetry” contest on April 4, 2018 at the Second Floor College Library and was spearheaded by the Circulation In-charge, Ms. Vanessa Joy D. Gevera. The activity was open to all students and was gracefully joined by the 5 students from the different departments. Their spoken word piece revolved around the context of library, love for books and love for reading. The participants from each department were given time to recite and deliver their piece and they did so very creatively.

2nd place-Edmar Quilang of SEASH, BSED-4
3rd place- Jeffrey Vinasoy of SHS STEM (NHS)-12
