ELEMENTARY LIBRARY CONDUCTS HAPPY NEWSPAPER DAY

 

On February 1, 2018, the USL Elementary Library has conducted Happy Newspaper Day Quiz Bee featuring the periodical clippings and newspapers at the Elementary Library. The objectives of the activity were: 1) to re-orient pupils on the existence and purpose of newspaper clippings as sources of relevant information; 2) to promote the use of newspapers and periodical clippings; and 3) to assess pupil’s awareness of current events and assess pupil’s awareness on current events based from print newspapers as sources of current information. The activity was facilitated by Ms. Mary Angelique H. Baylon, Assistant to the Elementary Library Head. Twenty-three (23) pupils from Grade 3-6 participated in the said activity. The winners were James Benedict C. Tan of Grade 6 Daffodil in First place, Bryan Adriel C. Malana of Grade 4 Jasmine in Second Place and Rheanne Ela Loise P. Alvarez of Grade 4 Magnolia in Third place.

The activity was evaluated by the participants as VERY SATISFACTORY.
