The Elementary Library, has celebrated the annual National Book Week with this year’s theme “Libraries Take Action: Providing Access and Opportunity for All”from November 16-29, 2017 through a series of meaningful activities for the Elementary pupils. Through the leadership of Mrs. Arlyn S. Cristobal, Elementary Library Head and Ms. Mary Angelique Baylon, Assistant to the Elementary Library Head, activities such as “Name that Book: a Quiz Bee” “Shelfie” Contest, “Origami Making Contest”, “Tagisan ng mga Top Readers”, “Quiz Bee” featuring Newspapers, “Quiz Bee Featuring Storybooks”, and “Philippine Tour featuring Maps”were conducted.

The activities’ main objectives were: (1) to foster the love for library, (2) to improve the reading culture of pupils through the use of story books; (3) to test pupils’ familiarity with the classic stories for children; (4) to test pupils’ familiarity of places in the Philippines using maps; and (5) to test pupils’ awareness of current events through the use of newspapers.

The following were the results of the different contested events:
