Pinto, the Director of Libraries received the Plaque of Recognition to the University Libraries being the PAARL 2010 Outstanding Academic and Research Library. The awarding ceremony was held at the National Library of the Philippines in Manila. The in-coming and out-going officers including the members of the Philippine Association of Academic and Research Librarians (PAARL) attended the said ceremony.

Of all libraries in the country outside of Metro Manila area, our very own University Libraries was chosen to be given such recognition. It was indeed a historic event on the part of PAARL and to the university because this is the first time that PAARL gave recognition to a library outside Metro Manila area. On the part of the school, this is the first award received by the library from the time of its existence. PAARL recognized the activities and programs of the library such as the offering of the BLIS program, book donations to schools, the establishment of the Cagayan and Kalinga Apayao Librarians Association Inc (CaAKAp) in 2007 and the contribution of the library to academic and research librarianship through its education, training, information networking, cooperative collection development and linkages and for being an active member of PAARL.
