Library Scavenger Hunt: Science Month Edition

One of the highlights for the month of September was the Scavenger Hunt activity for Senior High School students of the University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao SHS library held on September 24, 2025. The activity aimed to hone students’ reading, critical thinking, and their problem-solving abilities, with prizes prepared as rewards for their excellence.

The said activity was facilitated by BLIS Interns from Cagayan State University—Carig Campus, under the guidance of Mr. Onofre C. Unciano Jr.

Students of different levels from the SHS department were scouted to join the said activity. The mechanics were presented before the hunt began.

The Top placers are the following:
1st Place: Zariah Dang-Awan & Venarose Baggayan – Grade 11 St. Augustine
2nd Place: Audrey Fedelis & Aiko Bunagan – Grade 11 St. Augustine
3rd Place (Tie):
• AJ Columna & Mhea Manganip – Grade 11 St. Augustine
• Jerlene Adducul & John Carlo Guzman – Grade 11 St. Anselm

In conclusion, the library ensures that activities like these are not only leisure but also for student engagement—helping them Learn, explore, and sharpen their reading skills.

Bookmark Hunting

The Elementary Library conducted an engaging activity entitled “Bookmark Hunting” last September 24 and 29, 2025, with Grades 3–6 pupils participating in the first batch and Grades 1–3 pupils in the second batch. The activity aimed to encourage exploration of the library and its resources, promote reading interest by motivating pupils through a fun challenge, and foster observation skills and appreciation of reading materials.

The activity was facilitated by the BLIS Interns from CSU–Carig Campus under the guidance of Mrs. Jennelyn D. Asuncion and Mrs. Olivia L. Yadao.
The following are the winners:

1. Letizia Angela J. Blancas- 4-Magnolia
2. Synah Psalmantha A. Quilang- 4-Magnolia
3. Liam Anthony C. Paringit- 1-Daisy
4. Niamh Charlotte Emielia K. Palattao- 1-Lily
5. Amber Cate Banatao- 1-Lily

Based on the evaluation conducted, the activity garnered an overall rating of 3.63 (Strongly Agree), indicating the pupils’ active participation and highly positive response. The results reflect the participants’ satisfaction with the activity’s organization, facilitation, and relevance in enriching their library experience and promoting a love for reading.
