Mr. Michael A. Pinto, the Director of Libraries of USL University Libraries was elected as the new Vice President of the Philippine Librarians Association Inc., Cagayan Valley Region Librarians Council last July 30, 2010. The term of office of the newly elected officers of PLAI-CaVRLC will be from 2010-2012.

 It is indeed a very rare opportunity for any professional to experience attending international conferences, seminars, workshops and trainings especially outside the country. I was lucky enough because the USL administration approved our request to attend the International Conference for Academic Librarians at Chiang Chen Studio Theatre, Polytechnic University of Hong Kong, Honghum, Kowloon, Hong Kong on March 11-12, 2010 which was participated in by academic librarians of different nationalities.

The Ebsco Training for the Library staff was held at the ERC on October 29, 2009 at 8:00am – 12:00nn through the initiative of the Director of Libraries, Mr. Michael A. Pinto who was the resource speaker himself.
