PICK-A-WONDER

On September 9, 2026, the BES Elementary Library conducted the “Pick-A-Wonder” Activity for Grades 1–3 pupils. The activity was organized to foster pupils’ interest in reading and help enhance their knowledge and appreciation of books, reading, and the library. Through an enjoyable and interactive approach, the activity provided the pupils with an opportunity to explore and engage with the library in a fun and meaningful way.

The activity was facilitated by the BLIS Interns from Cagayan State University–Carig Campus, under the guidance and supervision of Mrs. Jennelyn D. Asuncion and Mrs. Olivia L. Yadao. The facilitators clearly explained the mechanics and provided assistance and encouragement to the pupils throughout the activity to ensure their active participation.

Based on the evaluation results, the participants rated the Pick-a-Wonder activity as “Strongly Agree,” with an overall mean score of 3.91. This indicates that the participants found the activity engaging, enjoyable, and valuable to their learning experience. The results suggest that the activity effectively captured the participants’ interest while contributing positively to their learning and participation.

Riddle: Find A Book

On September 9, 2026, the BES Elementary Library conducted the “Riddle: Find a book” activity for Grades 4-6 pupils. The activity aimed to encourage pupils to explore and become familiar with books and library resources through an interactive riddle-solving activity. It also sought to develop pupils’ reading comprehension, reasoning, and critical-thinking skills by having them analyze clues and identify the appropriate book. Through this activity, pupils had the opportunity to discover books in an engaging way while strengthening their ability to understand and interpret information. The activity was facilitated by the BLIS Interns from Cagayan State University–Carig Campus, under the guidance and supervision of Mrs. Jennelyn D. Asuncion and Mrs. Olivia L. Yadao.

During the activity, pupils were presented with riddles and clues related to books, authors, genres, characters, and other library resources. They carefully read and analyzed each clue, used their prior knowledge and reasoning skills, and searched for the book that best matched the given description. The activity encouraged pupils to explore the library shelves and become more familiar with the books and resources available to them.

Wheel You Answer?

The Junior High School Library successfully conducted an educational activity entitled “WHEEL YOU ANSWER?” on September 2-3 and 7, 2026. The activity was spearheaded by Mrs. Gladys R. Molina and Ms. Hanna Lee Erro, BES Librarians, and was designed to encourage students to utilize library resources and services through an engaging and interactive question-and-answer challenge.

The activity was open to Junior High School students, who participated individually. To join the activity, participants were required to locate at least one hidden ticket inside the library and present it to the facilitators before proceeding to the challenge. Participants then spun the wheel and answered questions from various categories and levels of difficulty.

Through this activity, students were given an opportunity to demonstrate and enhance their general knowledge, critical-thinking skills, reasoning, recall, problem-solving abilities, and confidence while actively participating in a meaningful library program. The activity also provided an avenue for students to apply their knowledge in an enjoyable learning environment beyond the traditional classroom setting.
