CHILDREN’S BOOK DAY CELEBRATION
USL Libraries Spearheaded Summer Book Fair 2014
The Libraries of University of Saint Louis, in its continued effort to strengthen its collection, held a two-day Book Fair on May 29-30, 2014 at the Second Floor, College Library. Sixteen (16) book publishers and vendors joined the event and exhibited their most recent books. A periodical provider and an e-book agent also participated in the activity, showcasing their resources.
USL faculty members and students from Elementary to College selected materials from the exhibit. Areas of the Library Collection with few references were prioritized. An estimated 6.5 million pesos worth of materials was recommended for purchase.
The second day of the Summer Book Fair was a dedicated to the conduct of a forum hosted by the PLAI-CaVRLC and University of Saint Louis Libraries. Among the speakers were Michael A. Pinto, PLAI President and USL Libraries Director, Mrs. Venus Ibarra-Guyos, Mr. David Cabonero, Mrs. Juliet Villanueva, and Mrs. Dolly Cayaban.
