Famous Book Contest

The College Library conducted the “Famous Book Contest” on November 25, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the 3rd Floor College Library in celebration of the National Book Week (NBW). The activity also supported the Global Connect Initiative of the GloCal Partnerships and Engagement (GPE) Office, integrating an NBW event that highlights the contributions of world authors and thinkers.

The activity was conducted with the following objectives:

1. To promote awareness and appreciation of the contributions of world authors and thinkers to human knowledge and learning.
2. To encourage students to explore and utilize library resources as valuable tools for research, discovery, and intellectual growth.
3. To strengthen students’ critical thinking and information literacy skills through engaging and educational activities.
4. To support the celebration of LIS Month by fostering a culture of reading, inquiry, and lifelong learning.

The event was facilitated by the College Library Staff and conducted under the supervision of the College Library Head and carried out with the guidance and support of the Director of Libraries. Students from various college departments actively participated in the competition. The First Place Winners received Certificates of Recognition, P2,000.00 cash prize, and a complimentary drink from LibRew while 2nd and 3rd Place winners received P1,500.00 and P1,000.00 respectively. The rest of the participants, received a 20% discount for any LiBrew item along with the 2nd and 3rd placers.

2nd Place – Angel Patricia Nebran-BSCE-2

3rd Place – Phoebe Anne G. Oñate-BSA-5
Reba G. Diohen-BSA-3

Based on the evaluation results, participants strongly agreed (3.76) that the Famous Book Contest was well-planned, organized, and effectively implemented. The feedback suggests minor improvements in areas such as consultation, promotion, and time allocation to further enhance participation. Overall, the activity was regarded as enjoyable, educational, and successful.
