High School Library with the Book Club Conducts a Science Fiction Film Showing

2The High School Library with the Book Club once again featured a film entitled “LUCY” a 2014 English-language French science fiction action film. She portrays the title character, a woman who gains psychokinetic abilities when a nootropic drug is absorbed into her bloodstream. The objective of this film was to let the students watch a film that has something to do with the facts of Science and as the High School department celebrates the Science month. The schedules of viewing were as follows: recess time, lunchbreak, and after classes in the afternoon on September 28-30, 2015.

Book Club Conducts Speed Reading

1One prolific activity of the Book Club is the Speed Reading which is aimed to improve the skills of the students in comprehending literature masterpieces. The Speed Reading Activity was conducted by the Book Club at the High School Library on September 30, 2015.

Guidelines to the contest are as follows:1.) The participants were given literature masterpiece to read. 2.) A 10-minute time limit was given after the piece was given. When the time limit expires, the participants gave their literature piece to the host and quiz followed after. There were 15 questions (5 for easy, 5 for moderate and 5 for difficult round). Each question weighs two (2) points. A 20- second time limit was given after each question is read. When the time limit expired, the participants showed their answer to the host or audience, and those who failed to do so means giving an incorrect answer and gained no point. 3.) Five tie-breaking questions were asked for the tie and sudden death format was used until one team led the other, when a tie still occurred. Two representatives or a pair in each curriculum joined the said competition in each grade level. The pair who got the highest score won.

Book Club Conducts Team Building

100_1020Last September 5, 2015, Saturday, the Book Club (BC) members attended a team-building activity organized by the officers. The objectives of the activity: to develop the spirit of camaraderie and cooperation among the members, to bring out in every student leader a driven sense of obligation and lastly, to boost the members’ sense of self esteem.   The facilitator of the activity was Ms. Charmaine Masuli, assisted by the library staff. The activity took place at High school Library, at around 8: 00 a.m

The activities were: “Google the jungle, ABC of spirituality, carry me on (newspaper), vibes tayo. 

The Book Club members have so much fun on the said activity.
