Know your Library: An Online Quiz Bee

In celebration of the annual National Book Week with the theme, “Libraries as Catalysts in the New Normal Environment: Changes, Reforms, Transformations”, the College Library conducts the first-ever online activity, “Know Your Library: An Online Quizbee” on December 7, 2020 to January 6, 2021 via USL libraries FB page.

The activity was spearheaded by Ms. Maria Theresa C. Bautista, Graduate School Virtual Librarian. The activity’s objective is to test student’s familiarity about the College Libraries’ staff, services, collection, policies and procedures, awards, achievements and highlights.

Magbugtungan Tayo!

The USL JHS Library prepared one activity for the JHS Faculty entitled “Magbugtungan Tayo!” on January 8, 2021 as part of library’s marketing activity to improve utilization of the collection. The activity was conducted via Google meet. The objectives of the activity were to: 1) to encourage teachers to work as a team; and 2) to have an opportunity for teachers to laugh and have fun once in a while. This were 18 participants (2 representatives) across all subject areas (Math, Science, English, Filipino, MAPEH, TLE, Araling Panlipunan, Computer, Christian Living).

The winners are Miss Jenny Rose Macanang and Miss Mariel Princess Tamaray of English area.

JHS Library Conducts In-Service Training on Source Documentation to the Faculty

The Junior High School Library held the Source Documentation training for the faculty on December 11, 2020, via Google meet App. Mrs. Arlyn S. Cristobal, the College Library Head, was the speaker of the said event.

The training objectives are as follows: 1.) to acknowledge other writers and researchers' contribution to your work, 2.) consistently and accurately citing the source helps you avoid plagiarism in your writing, 3. to signify the work's quality by considering the extent of information included in the new work created.

The in-text citation and reference listing were the topics discussed during the training. The training equipped the faculty with more strategies in composing their modules for the learners.
