University Libraries Book Distributors Hop cum Selection

As part of the Continuous Collection Enhancement (CCE) Program of USL University Libraries, the Acquisitions Librarian, Ms. Charmaine C. Masuli spearheaded the conduct of three-day book selection in Manila and Quezon City lasy June 29-July 1, 2016. The team of Librarians composed of the Elementary Library Head, Mrs. Arlyn S. Cristobal and Circulations Librarian of High School, Ms. Analyn D. Malana with two (2) officers from Purchasing Department; Ms. Marnely Arugay and Ms. Rhodelyn Aglugub.

The group visited seven (7) book distributors which include Fullybooked (Taguig), to local publishers namely, Unlimited Books (Intramuros), Mindshapers (Intramuros), Books at Iba Pa (Manadaluyong), to Cunanan Map House (Makati), to the National Book Store (Cubao) and Oddysey (Cubao).

Multimedia In-charge Conducts Film Viewing Activity for President Elect Rodrigo Duterte’s Oath-Taking and Inauguration

20160630150039A simple film viewing activity was set up at the 3rd floor of the college library on June 30, 2016 @ 12:00 noon spearheaded by Mr. Aldwin R. Baligod, Multimedia In-charge for students, faculty and personnel who wanted to witness the oath-taking ceremony and inauguration of President-elect Rodrigo R. Duterte that was streamed live via YouTube.

The activity was granted by the following objectives: 1) to know the platforms of the new government; to create awareness among students on their important role as young citizens of the country and; to identify the government’s role in education.

Students from different departments joined the event. The activity culminated after the inaugural speech of President Rodrigo R. Duterte.

Elementary Library Conducts Tongue Twister Contest

p1The USL Elementary Library in partnership with the Young Readers Club conducted Tongue Twister and Tongue Twister Making Contests on September 2, 2016 at the Elementary Audio Visual Room. The objectives of the activity were: to develop among pupils their communication skills (both written and oral) and to market the tongue twister collection of the library. The activity was facilitated by Ms. Mary Angelique H. Baylon, Assistant to the Elementary Library Head. The winners can be gleaned from the table below:
